ALOHA,

DRUNK DRIVING LAWS

When I attended the vigil in Makaha regarding the killing of the 3-year old boy at the bus stop at the hands of a drunk driver, I thought about how Germany has a system that does more than wrist-slapping on the convicted, but implements an actual life-long consequence/penalty such as taking away driving privileges for life. I think that if folks knew that there was a law in place that when they make the decision to drink and drive, that they could lose their driver's license for life . . . maybe the decision to drink and drive would not be worth the risk and drastically cut down on the practice.
